Puri: Srimandir Jagaomhan opens for darshan after a gap of two years and two months Puri . The ritual of the deities was delayed for more than five hours due to a confrontation between the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) officials and sevayats. The dispute arose after one of the sevayats who was supposed to perform rituals in the Garbha Gruha did not turn up. The other sevyat who wanted to act as a replacement was disallowed on the grounds that the Orissa HC has ordered that only the servitors, who are supposed to perform the rituals will only enter the Garbha Gruha. This triggered resentment among the sevayats. But the matter was resolved with the intervention of the district Collector and the SP. The servitors blamed the SJTA for delay in the conduct of the daily rituals in the temple.
