Sri Sri University held the first day of National Conference on “Happiness @Workplace”

Cuttack: Sri Sri University held the first day of National Conference on “Happiness @Workplace” in association with the Bhubaneswar Chapter of the National Human Resource Development Network(NHRDN) on 14th December,2017. This conference was graced by His Holiness Sri Sri Ravi Shankar as the Key Note speaker, where he said that, ‘In today’s time people search for unhappiness, start accepting, happiness will come on its own’, He also said “If there is happiness at home there will be happiness in workplaces, it is something that is inbuilt in us”. The ceremony was commenced by the lightning of the lamp by all the dignitaries.

Happiness @Workplace witnessed many dignitaries comprising of, Shri Prafulla Samal, Minister Women and Child Development, Govt. of Odisha. This also witnessed Shri Dharmhendra Pradhan Cabinet Minister, Petroleum and natural Gas & Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Mr. Parthasarthi Mishra, President NHRDN, Dr. R Seetharaman CEO of Doha Bank, Mr. Subrat Tripathy, CEO of Adani Dhamra Port, Mrs. Rajita Kulkarni, President Sri Sri University and World Forum for Ethics, Shri L.N. Gupta Additional Chief Secretary, Department of MSME Govt. of Odisha Dr. P. Subbarao Dean FCMS and Student welfare and Prof. (Dr.) Nand Lal, Vice-Chancellor Sri Sri University.

The primary objective of hosting this conference is to nurture the happiness quotient at workplace, discourse about the ethical issues, determine the best HR practices for the engagement of the employees. Such 38 papers were selected for the two-day conference. Minister Women and Child Development, Govt. of Odisha Shri Prafulla Samalji threw some light on the importance of happiness in a workplace. President Sri Sri University Mrs. Rajita Kulkarni emphasised on 3Cs Connections, collaborations and contentment. They are to be kept in mind while maintaining the happiness at workplace and your surroundings. Mr. Subrat Tripathy CEO Dharma Port mentioned ‘Help others rise, you rise yourself’. Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship said that “Sri Sri University is a new Chapter in the Indian civilisation”. Shri L.N Gupta emphasised that one must take an oath saying “Come what may, I am determined to be happy and I will be happy.” He also mentioned that his team is ready to partner with the budding startups.

The 2-day conference will also have Session with 2 experts on mind management and interesting research papers. The idea behind this conference is to engage an individual at work in his physical, mental, emotional and spiritual aspect so that his potential can be channelized and it brings out the best in the employee thereby creating a happy ecosystem at work.
