Sc. & T Minister Sri Panda in ‘Bio-Asia-2020’, Hyderabad Summit Biotechnology Park in Bhubaneswar Soon

Bhubaneswar : State will have a Biotechnology Park in Bhubaneswar and Bharat Biotech will partner it. An incubation centre will also come up at Institute of Life Science, said Sri Ashok Chandra Panda, Minister, Science & Technology, SSEPD and PE. He was addressing the valedictory session of Bio-Asia 2020, an event focusing on Biotechnology and Bio-industries held in Hyderabad.
The 3day long event brought together global Bio-technology Industries and pharmaceutical houses, hosted by Government of Telengana. Minister Sri Panda, as Guest of Honour, said that State Industrial Policy Resolution-2015 recognizes Biotechnology sector as a priority field and extends all fiscal incentives, special incentives and other support measures. To attract private investments in the field of Bio-technology, Science and Technology Department, Government of Odisha has launched a new Biotechnology Policy. Odisha possess a unique model of connecting academics, industries, research, development institutions and start ups. Minister also described on Bio-resources in the field of agriculture
and bio-materials, particularly in the Tribal areas, marine and costal region of the state that will enable value addition and product development through biotechnology applications. Minister Sri Panda sought cooperation from potential investors to build Odisha as the best technology business incubator.
The 17th edition of the Annual Flagship event of Government of Telengana ‘Bio-Asia 2020’ witnessed the participation of around 2100 delegates, representing 37 countries. About 100 speakers, 800 corporate leaders and 350 CEOs participated in this summit. Sri K. T. Ramarao, IT Minister, Telengana, as Chief Guest, among others appreciated the organisation of the event as ‘one of its kind’ in the Life
Sciences Industry which has grown in size, stature and in terms of value.
Minister Sri Panda visited Odisha Stall in the event and informed that over 80 companies are investing for industrial growth in the state and that has reached more that worth 2,03,270 crores. He also visited the Genome Valley and went to several leading Bio-tech farms like IKP Knowledge Park jointly
developed by ICICI Bank and Govt. of Telengana which works in the field of innovation corridors and promotes Start ups. Sri Panda also visited Biological e. Hd. which was founded in 1953 and pioneers in the field of Vaccines, anti-snake venom etc. He also visited Bharat Bio-tech to whom the Government of
Odisha has allotted land to set up their project and assured the farm to facilitate the project.
