Sandip Soparrkar conferred with an honorary doctorate in Fine Arts

Mumbai: Bollywood most successful dance choreographer Sandip Soparrkar was recently honoured an honorary doctorate degree in Fine Arts in Performing Arts and Dance by National American University in alliance with the National Institute of Education and Research, Asia in New Delhi..

He took to his Social Media accounts to share pictures and videos from the ceremony. This is Sandip Soparrkar’s second Doctorate honour, 1st was in World Mythology Folklore from Pacifica University, California, USA.

In these photos, Sandip is all smiles as he is posing for a perfect photo with his degree. Sharing his excitement, an overwhelmed sandip said, “I Feel privileged that this doctorate is given to me in the field of dance. Thank you to all my students and teachers who have worked equally very hard to make me who I am today.”

Not to forget that Sandip was one of the first few choreographers who brought in international dances on the big screen and also introduced Ballroom and Latin Dance culture to dance lovers in India apart from making it famous on Indian television reality shows. Soparrkar’s distinctive style of choreography can be seen from the very beginning of his career back in 2001. Some of his most notable work of includes choreography for films like Zubaidaa, Kites and Saat Khoon Maaf, Mangal Pandey, etc. Plus he has taken India globally by teaching dance to International icons like Madonna, Britney Spears and Beyonce Knowles. Many young influences of Bollywood today also happen to be students of Sandip Soparrkar. Not just that but his national excellence award wining initiative ‘Dance for a Cause’ has gained tremendous momentum for the last few years making its presence felt all over the world.
