Kaniha: 16th Kabbadi Tournament was conducted by Sports Council under the CSR initiative of NTPC Kaniha on 17.12.2018. The tournament saw the participation of 17 nearby villages of Kaniha block.
Out of 17 teams participation, two teams i.e Kaniha and Dereng could make into the finals of the tournament and team Kaniha emerged as the winner.
The closing ceremony was attended by Shri D K Sahu AGM Operations. Shri D K Sahu congratulated both the teams for their achievements and handed over the winner and runners up trophy to both teams. He said that such local tournaments will boost the promotion of the sport among the Rural youth and encourage some would go on to make professional careers in the Kabbadi game.
