Cuttack: In a nipping diurnal, Rotary Club of Cuttack celebrated its 75 years of glorious monumental journey at Cuttack Club of Cuttack, Odisha today. It is the first Rotary Club of Odisha and 5th Club among in India to solemnize Platinum Jubilee celebration with much more prompt and vigour.
At the outset of the Sunday morn, a mega Rotary Rally was organized to disperse the message of Let’s walk together in the city starting from Christian Padia to end up at Cuttack Club. Dr. Sudhanshu Sarangi, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Bhubaneswar- Cuttack, Government of Odisha along with Shri Satyabrata Tripathy, President of Rotary Club of Cuttack formally inaugurated this mega rally. More than 500 Rotarians and non Rotarians took part in this rally to celebrate rejoice of this glorious seven decades.
Shri Sibabrata Dash, IAS (Retd.), Past District Governor of Rotary Club inaugurated the ceremonial function by lighting the lamp in the propitious presence of senior Rotarians of the club and Rotary district members at Cuttack Club, Cuttack, Odisha. Among others Shri A B Mohapatra, PDG of Rotary Club, Shri Saumen Ray, PP, Centenary Chairman, Rotary Club of Kolkata, Shri Satyabrata Tripathy, President of Rotary Club of Cuttack and Smt. Bobita Pattnaik, Secretary of Rotary Club of Cuttack were also present during this inaugural ceremony.
During this daylong celebration two conclaves on the themes of “Rotary: Yesterday- Today- Tomorrow” and “Icons of Odisha” were organized to conducive visionary prospects of Odisha. The first conclave on the theme of “Rotary: Yesterday- Today- Tomorrow” was chaired by Shri Sibabrata Dash, IAS (Retd.), PDG of Rotary Club while Shri Ashutosh Rath, PP Rtn. Of Rotary Club moderated the entire session. The second conclave on the theme of “Icons of Odisha” was chaired by Padmashree Sudarshan Pattnaik, Eminent Sand Artist and Padmashree Ileana Citaristi, Eminent Odissi Dancer while Shri Satyabrata Sanu Ratha, Rotarian as well as guest of this ceremonial function moderated the entire session.
Eventually at the Finishing touch of this gigantic celebration in the evening, Chief Guest Shri R Balakrishnan, IAS (Retd.), Chief Advisor to Chief Minister of Odisha inaugurated the felicitation ceremony in the auspicious presence of Chief Speaker of the occasion Shri Subroto Bagchi, Founder of Mindtree Solutions, Shri Soumen Roy, PDG of Rotary Club of Kolkata, CA Debasish Mishra, DG of Rotary Club, Shri Satyabrata Tripathy, President of Rotary Club of Cuttack, Smt. Bobita Pattnaik, Secretary of Rotary Club of Cuttack and Dr. Jayanta Panda. Two members who have already completed 50 years at Rotary Club clinched as PP Shri B K Mahanty and PP Mr. Jay Subudhhi along with all PDGs of Rotary Club, all Presidents of Rotary Club of Cuttack and Chowdwar, District Secretary General, DGE, DGN, IW President of Rotary Club, Rotary Club President and Rotary Community Crops Presidents were being felicitated during this Platinum Jubilee celebration of Rotary Club of Cuttack. The congregated throng came across the glorious journey of Rotary Club of Cuttack through the documentary displayed in the big screen.
Speaking onto this occasion, Shri Satyabrata Tripathy, President of Rotary Club of Cuttack said, “Rotary is just not a club, it is a society of community participation. In the welfare measures of the civil society how Rotary Club has taken part a crucial role in past decades to transforming important developmental aspects in the present age and how important role it will take in future to transforming India into a developed country is absolutely possible due to the support of the denizens.”
The Platinum Jubilee celebration is a benchmark set by Rotary Club of Cuttack in terms of community mobilization. In future the club will surely come up with innovative ideas and practices to develop the nation in its full strength.
