By Roy

Be that ‘2 States’, ‘3 Mistakes Of My Life’, or ‘Five Point Someone’, it is hard to pick any one book for all the Chetan Bhagat lovers. The author who has brought revolution in contemporary reading shares the shades of novel writing on his recent visit to Odisha.

Bhagat who recently paid a visit to SOA University, Bhubaneswar, says, “Every time I come down to Odisha, I feel like belong to this place. And it was an honour meeting the Chief Minister of Odisha Naveen Patnaik. It is rare to find a leader like him.” Not only that, but youngsters of Odisha will be witnessing him in Bhubaneswar very soon in the near future.

Bhagat’s works and his transition from a corporate employee to an author has always inspired young aspiring writers and boosted up confidence in them. On this, he says, “I often go to interactive sessions at various places including the official and corporate ones, but I always love to interact with students. You see, when I interact with students, not only them but I also learn a lot of things, new ideas and angles from them. A writer always looks for a story in everything he sees or does.”

Readers say that Chetan Bhagat’s novels run like a movie in minds, where people relate life with fiction. While talking about this, Bhagat has hinted about his upcoming book which is going to be released during May or June in 2020.

Bhagat’s many novels have been adapted into films and have been winning hearts worldwide. Treating his readers’ anticipation regarding the most awaited one- ‘Revolution 2020’, he says, “Yes, very soon it is going to be on screens. Though it has been delayed, but, better things are on the way.”

It probably happened for the first time that an author made non-readers read novels apart from staunch readers. “When I started writing, I had no other thing in hands but writing. I also had a small fear but I continued with the experiment. I never had targeted a specific set of readers but eventually, it happened so and people loved my works.”
After penning down the screenplay for the movie ‘Kick’, and delivering his expertise as one of the judges in the dance reality show ‘Nach Baliye’, as he states to us, his readers and viewers will be watching his experiments with digital platforms soon.
