Rashmi Ranjan Parida receives Odisha Youth Award 2018

Bhubaneswar: EverGreen Forum, a popular NGO in Bhubaneswar conferred Odisha Youth Award 2018 on Shri Rashmi Ranjan Parida, the founder and Editor-in-Chief of Odisha Diary, this evening at the Odisha Youth Conclave in Jayadev Bhavan.

The award recognises Shri Parida’s contribution to Odisha’s journalism. Hon’ble Minister Shri Surya Narayan Patro handed over the award to Kamala Kanta Dash, who received the award on behalf of Mr. Parida and the Team Odisha Diary.

The organisers selected Mr. Parida among a host of other choices because of his unique contribution to Odisha’s journalism. Mr. Parida was happy to be nominated for this award. He said “this is a recognition for the team of Odisha Diary, Odisha Diary Foundation and our initiatives like Odisha Living Legend Awards, Kalinga Literary Festival and the Mystic Kalinga. Our work for Odisha is a lifetime commitment. Awards like this reinforce our belief to give our 100% to our state. For me, my heroes are my team members. I work for them.”

He further added that without a permanent secretariat the Team Odisha Diary has achieved incredible success. With a small team, shoe-string budget and months of struggle have not deterred him to stage world-class events like Kalinga Literary Festival and Mystic Kalinga Poetry and Performance Festival.

Prof Kamala Kanta Dash who received the award on his behalf expressed happiness in the selection. He wrote on his Facebook post, “Rashmi Ranjan Parida is a pioneer in digital journalism in Odisha. He richly deserves this award. He has led all of us at Odisha Diary with a vision to contribute to Odisha. His infectious energy and enthusiasm have inspired all of us in the team. May he continue to create more youth leaders.”
