Project Sanjivani by DMF keonjhar to facilitate treatment in SCB Cuttack

Report by Malaya Mohapatra; Kendujhar: Sanjeevani is an initiative by the Kendujhar District Mineral Foundation to extend free health services to needy patients for availing specialized treatment at SCB Medical, Cuttack. A Patient Facilitation Centre at the Kendujhar District Hospital has been opened where referred needy patients are sent to the Attendant accommodation Centre opened in the SCB Medical Cuttack.

Patients after reaching the attendant accommodation center will be admitted in the Hospital by Volunteers engaged in ACC while attendants will be allowed to stay in the ACC free along with food allowance of Rs 200 per day during the treatment of the patient. Several needy patients who were unable to afford treatment at specialized hospitals can get free treatment at SCB if referred from any of the Sub divisional Hospitals or CHCs.

The cost will be borne from the DMF funds, Ashish Thakre, Collector Kendujhar said. Volunteers at the Help desks working in the Kendujhar Govt Hospitals are helping such serious patients to be shifted to Cuttack for better treatment everyday. Nabakishore Das, Health minister has inaugurated this project in the SCB campus on 5th March in presence of minister Premananda Naik, MLAs Jagannath Naik and Badrinarayan Patra.
