Bhubaneswar: Prof. Dr. Deepak Kumar Behera is appointed as new Vice-Chancellor of Sambalpur University. Governor and Chancellor Dr. S.C. Jamir appointed Prof. Behera as Vice-Chancellor of Sambalpur University today. Prof. Deepak Kumar Behera had earlier served full term of three years as Berhampur University.
Exercising the powers conferred by Sub section 1 and 7 of Section 6 of Odisha Universities Act, 1989 Chancellor
Dr. Jamir appointed Prof. Behera as Vice-Chancellor for a period of three years with effect from the date he assumes office as such or until further orders whichever is earlier.
An alumnus of Sambalpur University Prof. Behera had his postgraduation in Anthropology and Sociology and did his Ph. D from Sambalpur University. A former Professor and Head of Anthropology Department in Sambalpur University he has 31 years of teaching experience. He has to his credit forty-five nos. of Research Paper publications in leading national and international journals and authored a book. Besides one D.Litt, Prof. Behera guided 18 scholars to Ph.D
degree.
