Jubail: The Pravasi Odiyas in Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia, has celebrated Utkal Divas With great fanfare on 27th April at Jubail. On this occasion, Bombay Odia Samaja president, Industrialist and philanthropist Dr. Dev Mohanty graced the occasion as chief guest. Dr. Syed Hameed, Principal International Indian School has graced the celebration as Guest of Honour.
The programme was started with recitation of Odisha’s state Anthem Bande Utkal Janani. The cultural programme was carried out by Utkalika members on guidance of cultural coordinator Dr. Chinmaya Kar and Bana Bihari Mohanty.
The programme was organized by it’s chief Coordinator Jayant Mohapatra articulately with it’s senior Advisory members Mr. Ajay Das and Mr. Ajit Jena. Senior and founder member Mr. Binod Sahoo has energized the audience by his spectacular speech, how Odisha and Odias are proud of their history.
On eve of Utkal Divas, 5th Edition of Utkalika Annual magazine opening ceremony was carried out by Chinmaya Prasad Lenka and Gagan Swain.
Children of Utkalika members have been Bestowed for their active participation in cultural programme. The event featured Odishi , sambalpuri dance, Pala ,Bollywood and Ollywood dances, fashion show and Odia food.
The whole programme was actively participated by its core committee members Umakanta Padhi, Mustafa Baig, Susanta Pradhan, Pyarimohan Malliick, Radhesyam Ram, Sudhir Senapati, Maheswer Jena, Deepak Dhal, Susanta Acharya, Subash Behera ,Basanta Das , Adesh Behera, Balaram Baliar Singh, Ramakanta Jena, Narottam Behera, Arshad Hussain, Saroj Patra, Anshuman Mohanta, Bikramaditya Rath,Sanjith Samal,Prabhat Parida,Pankaj Singh,Khitish Pradhan ,Sanjaya Mishra and so many. Around 400 members all together were gathered to witness this Mega function Utkal Divas Celebration.
