New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurates e-GramSwaraj portal and a mobile application, on the occasion of Panchayati Raj Diwas . Prime Minister interacts with Sarpanchs from across the nation via video conferencing, on the occasion of Panchayati Raj Diwas. Panchayati Raj Minister Narendra Singh Tomar also present. E-Gram Swaraj portal on National Panchayati Raj Day aimed at greater self-reliance of Panchayats in the country.

The villages in India have given the mantra of – ‘Do gaj doori ‘ to define social distancing in simpler terms, to fight coronavirus pandemic says PM Modi during interaction with Sarpanchas across the nation.

Prime Minister launches Swamitva Scheme on the occasion of National Panchayati Raj Day. With this,Demarcation of inhabited land in rural areas would be done by the use of latest surveying methods-Drone technology. Under the #SWAMITVA Yojana, drone mapping of villages will be undertaken. Title deeds will be allotted to the owners after assessment .This will pave path for applying for loans from banks by the owners. Disputes related to property would also be settled said PM Modi.

Gram Panchayats play pivotal role in making country self -reliant. Developed & self-reliant villages are key for a developed nation said PM Modi. Govt. has been working continuously to modernize panchayat infrastructure. Now, more than 1.25 lakh panchayats have broadband connectivity. More than 3 lakh Common Service Centres; low-cost smart phones are available in villages  said PM Modi.
