Chennai: PM Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping to hold delegation level talks in Mamallapuram.
Recalling the first informal summit in Wuhan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, ” the first summit led to fresh stability in our relations and gave a fresh momentum. Strategic communication between our two countries has also increased.”
Both the leaders meet at hotel Taj Fishermen’s Cove at around 10 am. Yesterday, PM Modi and President Xi held a highly productive meeting in a pleasant environment over the cultural programme and a sumptuous dinner at the sprawling shore temple complex.
Foreign Secretary Vijay Gokhale informed that the dinner meet continued well beyond the scheduled time and lasted for around 2 and a half hours. Mr Gokhale said in a press conference that both the leaders spent around 5 hours of quality time together in a one to one informal setup and discussed their national visions, governance priorities and ways to achieve them.
