Parliament adjourned till 11th March for the Holi break

New Delhi: Both the houses of Parliament have been adjourned till 11th of March for the Holi break. The Rajya Sabha was adjourned for the fifth consecutive day today following noisy scenes by the Opposition demanding immediate discussion on Delhi violence. Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu adjourned the house within minutes after it met at 11 A.M. Some of the Opposition members raised slogans before trooping into the well of the House. Responding to this, the Chairman warned that he will be compelled to name the members raising slogans and said the slogans are un-Parliamentary and shameful. Some of the Opposition Members from Congress, DMK, TMC and Left Parties raised slogans in the well of the House. Chairman Venkaiah Naidu requested the Opposition to return to their seats but they did not.

The Lok Sabha was adjourned after the house passed two bills without discussion amid noisy scenes. The bills are, Aircraft Amendment Bill, 2020 and the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (Second Amendment ) Bill, 2019.

Earlier, as soon as the house met for the day, Opposition Members from Congress, DMK, TMC and Left Parties raised slogans in the well of the house. Presiding Officer Kirit Premjibhai Solanki made repeated appeals to the agitating members to return to their seats.
