Bhubaneswar: Panchayat Polls In Odisha To Be Held In 5 Phases From Feb 16; Model Code of Conduct Comes Into Effect From Today .
Notification for panchayat polls to be released on January 13; filing of nomination from January 17 to January 21, last date for nomination withdrawal is Jan 25; final list of candidates will be out on Jan 25 – says SEC AP Padhi on upcoming Panchayat Elections in Odisha.
– No roadshow or bike rally allowed.
– Padyatra permitted, maximum 5 persons can accompany candidate for campaigning.
– Polling to be held from 7AM to 1PM.
– After polling, counting of votes will take place in block level.
– There are provisions to punish a candidate who submits false affidavit.
– Panchayat polls to be held in 5 phases.
– Polling on February 16, 18, 20, 22, 24.
– Counting of votes on Feb 26, 27, 28.
– Naib Sarpanch elections on March 11, 2022
– Panchayat Samiti Chairman elections on March 12
– Zilla Parishad Chairman elections on March 13
