Orissa: Court acquitted 10 suspected Maoist

Report by Dipti Ranjan Kanungo; Deogarh: The Additional District Judge Gobinda Chandra Panigrahi has acquitted 10 suspected Maoist due to lack of evidence.

It is to be noted here that The Maoists had killed on 22nd June 2007 a young contractor of Telikusuma village Mahi Pradhan, Hrish Chandra Naik and Bholeswar Naik of Ranigola village suspecting them as informer of Police.

Police had arrested Sashi Bhusan Deb of Rangamatia village, Bijaya Jhankar of Sahajbal village, Chintamani Patta of Sibapalli village , a women  maoist cadre Pushpika Tirki of Mendiakani village, who had surrendered before police on 2008 National Womens Day, Bimal Topno, Santosh Munda, Mukunda Naik  of Ranigola village, Narayan Naik, Luchan Kissan and Tapan Naik of Jharpur village. They were booked in 18 sections including homicide, traitor . In the above case Police failed to nab the maoist leader Sabyasachi Panda.
