Cuttack: Sri Sri University organised a grand welcome and an Oath taking ceremony to welcome its new President Ms. Rajita Kulkarni. The new President Ms. Kulkarni is a renowned institution builder, leadership trainer and a global expert on Ethics in Business. She is the Founder President of World Forum for Ethics in Business, Brussels and has three decades of global work experience including leadership training and consulting experience with Fortune 500 companies, leading national, state and city governments around the world.
Registrar Prof. Srinivas Subbarao welcomed the faculty and staff on behalf of the university. Vice Chancellor Prof Nand Lal introduced the New President and shared her past and ongoing contribution and commitment to Sri Sri University (SSU). Director Operations, Mr. Narendra Lamba recounted the 16 years of experience of working with Ms. Kulkarni in various roles as part of the Art of Living’s national and international initiatives in education, health, cross-cultural engagement and peace building.
Vice Chancellor Prof Nand Lal administered the Presidential Oath. Prof Subbarao, Mr. Lamba and the in-coming Registrar Prasanna David were on dais.
Ms. Kulkarni in her Presidential address thanked Guruji H H Sri Sri Ravi Shankar for his blessings and the great vision for the great institution in the making. She thanked the Sri Sri University for appointing her as the new President. From the inception of the university, she has been a global brand ambassador of the university and she reiterated her role and commitment to take the university to the next level of excellence. She expressed happiness in Sri Sri University reaching several milestones and how in a very short span time of time the new age university is emerging as a successful example for many institutions in India and the World. She especially highlighted the awards that Sri Sri University has received in last one year. As a President she announced to continue to work with the Team SSU and lead by example and promote excellence.
She advocated a Five P (5P) formula for everyone in order to achieve excellence. To her Preparation, Planning, Passion, Perseverance and Pride are the five ingredients of an excellent leader. She emphasized on an urgent need in our society that people who build institutions and future generations to take pride in what they do.
She presented her vision and got feedback from faculty members and staff on how to create an excellent centre of higher education and on how to co-create and contribute to global knowledge in technological development, innovations in business, art and culture and best practices in good governance.
The new President announced several annual awards to recognize and promote outstanding performance by students, faculty and staff. She congratulated students who have won awards in inter-state and inter-university competitions and encouraged them to emerge as brand ambassadors of the university in both curricular and co-curricular activities.
Drawing inspiration from Guruji HH Sri Sri Ravi Shankar’s life, work and message, the new President urged the university community to work to realize the global vision of a happy, stress free and smiling world order.
