Odisha Skill Development Authority signs MOU with CISCO & Tata Strive

Bhubaneswar: Two Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) was signed by Odisha Skill Development Authority to strengthen the Skill Eco- System of the state today.

The First MoU was signed by OSDA with Tata Community Initiative Trust to scale up the Nano Unicorn Programme of OSDA. Nano Unicorn is a unique programme of OSDA where skilled youths of the state are being nurtured to become small entrepreneurs to not only make a living for themselves but also create employment for others by supporting them through training and philanthropic capital. Tata Community Initiative Trust will help OSDA to identify youth with entrepreneurship potential, providing them the right environment to think and grow, building the right skill set among the budding entrepreneurs through structured training programmes, financial help to budding entrepreneurs to setup their business units. The MoU was signed by CEO, OSDA Sri Rajesh P. Patil and CEO Tata Community Initiative Trust, Smt Anita Rajan.

The second was a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed among Odisha Skill Development Authority (OSDA), State Council of Technical Education and Vocational Training (SCTEVT) and CISCO Systems India Private Limited (CISCO) for Skill Development, IT Education and Workforce Development for the youth of Odisha undergoing training at ITIs and Polytechnics.

CISCO runs worldwide Networking Academy Program that skills students and young people in IT networking. Through the MoU, CISCO will help all the Government ITIs and all the polytechnics of the state to get integrated with this online learning and certification programme run by them. For this they will provide Academy Program and registered institutions will have the option of integrating their regular curricula with the above thereby enhancing the employability of the students. As per the MoU, CISCO will provide training to Master Trainers, orientation sessions and support ITE (IT Essentials), CCENT (Cisco Certified Entry Network Technician) courses in ITIs and Polytechnics (Govt and Private), of the State. It will provide key learning materials and course content to support key courses like ITE, CCENT, CCNA, etc. and learning management system (LMS) to deliver the courses.

The MoU was signed by Sri Rajesh P. Patil, Director Employment & CEO, OSDA, Sri Balwant Singh, Vice Chairman, State Council of Technical Education and Vocational Training (SCTEVT), and Vice President, CISCO, Shri Mallavarapu Vikram Kumar.

On this occasion Commissioner-cum-Secretary, SD&TE, Sri Singh said, “Through these MoUs initiative will be undertaken in the field of entrepreneurship development, skill development and overall development for the youth of Odisha.
