Odisha Police arrested 35 in Bhadrak over unrest, Curfew extended till 8 am tomorrow

Bhadrak: Curfew extended till 8 am tomorrow in Bhadrak town. Three separate FIRs lodged by two groups at Bhadrak Town Police Station, 35 persons arrested, 9 motorcycles seized by police.
Home Secretary Asit Tripathy, DGP KB Singh, ADG (Law and Order) and RDC (Central) in Bhadrak and 30 platoons of police force have been deployed.
On the other hand Chief Secretary AP Padhi reviewed the situation in Bhubaneswar. Infrastructure damaged in violence being restored on war footing, says Chief Secretary AP Padhi.
It should be noted that tension gripped Bhadrak on April 6 over an obnoxious photo and derogatory remarks on Lord Ram on social media as irate Bajrang Dal and Sriram Mahayagya Samiti activists occluded the NH-16 by blazing tyres agitating over the incident.

The situation worsened following the gherao of Bhadrak Town police station by the protestors demanding arrest of the persons involved in posting offensive remarks on social media by hurting their religious sentiments.
