Odisha Planning board deputy chairman holds review meeting in Jagatsinghpur

Report by Kahnu Nanda; Jagatsinghpur: The state planning board deputy chairman Bishnu Das held a review meeting with several departments’ officials and engineering division’s senior engineers including police administration so as to assess the pace of developmental works and law and order situation of the Jagatsinghpur.
Deputy Chairman first wished the attending officials and government machineries working in the district in the eve of New Year 2018, then the meeting was begun in Sadbhabana Sabha Gruha here on Wednesday. The RD roads connecting Alipingala to Devi Dola and Alipingala to Kapasa deputy chairman asked the departmental executive engineer to give his details on reply the Executive engineer replied the work under progress and estimated to be completed before this year monsoon. Irrigation division executive engineer expressed his inability to construct different canal roads due to funds constraint, moreover NH division executive engineer revealed that after Jagatsinghpur road has elevated to NH status the survey works and DPR approval underway and project would be started soon after land acquisition process.
Deputy Chairman enquired about several SC/ST atrocity cases have been occurred in Jagatsinghpur district in recent past and its status, replying the query district superintendent of police Jay Narayan Pankaj informed most of the SC/ST related cases have been charge sheeted under judicial trail moreover SP revealed that few cases have been recognized where the SC/ST Act has been mis utilized leading to woes of genuine victims.
Among others Odisha building and construction workers welfare board chairman Subash Singh, collector Yamini Sarangi, project director DRDA, ADM, sub collector Jagatsinghpur and all departmental heads were present in the review meeting.
