Report by Nishapati Nayak, Koraput: Jeevani alias Suna Wadeka , a lady maoist surrendered before S.Shyni , DIG , SW Range of Odisha police and Charan Singh Meena SP Koraput at Koraput today . According to Ms.Shyni , Suna was functioning as a personal guard of Suresh alias Chelluri Narayan Rao , commander of 3rd CRC of CPI (Maoist) organisation .
Suna , a girl from Podapadar of Narayanpatna block in Koraput district was inducted into the organisation in 2011 as a member of Sanskrutika Gana Natya Mandali which is a cultural troupe of the maoists .She was then 12 years old , Ms.Shyni added .Further she was given training to handle arms like 303 rifle by the party after which she had worked in different areas of Koraput district and was involved in many incidence of violence .
Suna had surrendered following her rejection to the way of functioning and anti social activities by the maoists which had resulted in killing of people of her own community .As the state government had announced a reward of Rs.1 Lakh on her , she would be getting the amount for her voluntary surrender . She will be rehabilitated as per the surrender policy of Odisha government , Ms.Shyni said .
