ABOUT THE ODISHA LIVING LEGEND AWARDS
Odisha Living Legend Awards, established by OdishaDiary (OD) in 2011, is a novel way to acknowledge and honour great contributions to Odisha. This year OdishaDiary is adding one more award to connect the inspired youth force with the living legends of our state. The objective is to build future legends. OdishaDiary being the No-1
news-portal on Odisha is uniquely positioned to make an impact through these awards. The entire award ceremony will be video recorded and some leading media houses have shown interest to make the event live.
OdishaDiary, the pioneer in online news on Odisha, was founded on 11 November 2005. In last seven years the OD has fast entrenched itself in the lives of a young and dynamic readership on Odisha throughout the globe. Nevertheless, OdishaDiary’s central focus remains on the lived experiences of Odias and their overall social, political, economic and spiritual development.
On 11th November 2011 OD completed six years of its successful operation. On this occasion of 6th Foundation Day, OdishaDiary.co had set up annual Odisha Living Legend Awards. The idea has been to celebrate the success stories of Odias. Like last year this year the function will be held in the state capital Bhubaneswar at Jaydev Bhawan, on November 10, 2012. On this occasion Odishadiary will honour distinguished personalities and youth leaders from different fields of Odisha.
The Odisha Living Legend and Youth Inspiration awardees will be nominated and/or selected by a committee/team of experts constituted by the OrissaDiary. If required the committee or a group of members of the “Awards Committee” may undertake a field visit to get firsthand knowledge of achievements claimed by a reader/nominator/awards committee in support of their entry for the award. On the basis of past exemplary work, impact and legacy OdishaDiary Team reserves the right to select any individual or institution even when there is no nomination from the awards committee and OdishaDiary readers.
