Bhubaneswar: Odisha Journalists body demanded comprehensive law to protect the journalists. On the occasion of the Press Freedom Day Odisha Union Of Journalists have decided to fight for free press and to agitate to remove different colonial sections of the Indian Penal code that are threats to the free press.
To uphold the dignity and freedom of the press, we demand a comprehensive law to protect the journalists, which will be in accordance with the Constitution of India.
Senior journalists Rabi Das, Rajaram Satpathy, Prafulla Das, Prasanna Mohanty, Priya Ranjan Sahu, Pramod Samantray, Raj kishore Mohapatra, Parikhit Biswal, Ingit Panda, Sudhansu Sekhar Parida, Khetrabasi Mahakud demanded this on the occasion of the Press Freedom Day.
