Bhubaneswar: Odisha govt unveils bus advertising campaign in London to promote Men’s Hockey Worldcup2018 scheduled to be held from 28 November to 16 December at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar.

The advertisement says “Migratory Birds by Morning Migratory Fans by Evening” while announcing the Hockey Men’s World Cup event.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in a Tweet on Friday said, “Our preparation for Odisha Hockey Men’s World Cup has now made its way to London! Sporting the Odisha logo and glimpses of our tourism potential, the buses in the British capital are introducing Odisha to the world, as a sports capital and hosts of #HWC2018 #Odisha2018.”

Sports and Tourism Secretary Vishal Dev feels that the branding is a positive move and it provides a great opportunity to introduce Odisha in the international arena.

Secondly, this is a good platform to showcase Odisha’s innovative brand of nature, Chilika and sports, the World Cup Men’s Hockey, pointed out an expert in creative branding.

As the State Government is projecting Bhubaneswar as India’s sports capital, it is looking at cross promotional tourism activities to run in tandem with the sports campaigns.
