Odisha Govt to promote 56,000 teachers in the State

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Govt to promote 56,000 teachers in the State. A decision to this was taken following a direction of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, informed School and Mass Education (S&ME) Minister Samir Ranjan Dash.

About 56,000 teachers in the State would be given promotion and the process for it would be completed by this month. Besides, steps are afoot to vitalise all Directorates under the S&ME Department. For every district, a senior official has been deployed as Nodal Officer to supervise various programmes. They would hold discussions on various issues with senior officials of the concerned department every Monday.

On Monday, S&ME Principal Secretary Satyabrata Sahu held a meeting with all Directors and Additional and Joint Secretaries of the department regarding promotion of 56,000 teachers and filling of vacant posts. The promotion proposal has been drafted and would be given a final approval soon, sources said.

Meanwhile, as per the CM’s decision, all authorities concerned have been directed to reduce syllabus from primary to higher secondary classes in view of the Covid-19 pandemic.
