Odisha Govt spent RS 28.58 CR for organising the 22nd Asian Athletics Championships

Bhubaneswar: The State Government spent a total of Rs 28,58,26,355 for organising the 22nd Asian Athletics Championships and Rs 26,39,71,523 towards infrastructure development for the international event held at the Kalinga Stadium here a few months back.

Sports and Youth Services Minister Chandra Sarathi Behera informed this in the State Assembly in response to a question of Congress MLA Bhujabal Majhi and BJP MLA Rabinarayan Nayak.

Out of organisation expenditure, Rs 6,68,82,804 spent for event management, Rs 1,16,76,469 towards claims of Athletic Federation of India, Rs 1,28,26,892 for advertisement, Rs 4,13,629 towards medical expenses, Rs 20,59,415 towards TA/DA of international technical official, Rs 12,06,221 for Wi-Fi, Rs 6,47,39,925 for accommodation, Rs 1,16,82,929 for catering/boarding, Rs 2,57,80,769 towards transportation cost, Rs 1,31,31,492 for venue arrangement, Rs 7,52,68,014 for branding and event promotion and Rs 1,57,796 towards miscellaneous expenses.

A total of Rs 40,30,24,664.50 were collected from State Government and different organisations, the Minister said. While Rs 25 crore was sourced as Government Grant from OCF, the rest amount came from various companies and commercial banks.
