Odisha Govt to organise international coastal festival named ‘Marine Drive Eco Retreat’ near Konark from December 14

Bhubaneswar: State Government on Saturday decided to organise an international-level coastal festival named ‘Marine Drive Eco Retreat’ near Konark from December 14, 2019 to January 14, 2020.

The decision was taken at a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at the Lok Seva Bhawan here.

The festival, to be held on the Marine Drive, eight km from Konark, would have cultural programmes, 3D mapping, food festivals and adventure and water sports. A luxurious tent cottage with 50 rooms would come up with water, electricity and parking facilities. The spot would be beautified with lighting and other decors.

The drive festival, along with the developmental projects and the Samuka project in Puri would enhance tourism potentials of Konark, said an official release.

The Chief Minister directed the concerned departments to give their best to make the event successful.

Among others, Tourism Minister Jyotiprakash Panigrahi, Sports and Youths Affairs Minister Tusharkanti Behera, OTDC Chairperson Srhimayi Mishra, Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy and Development Commissioner Suresh Chandra Mohapatra were present.
