Odisha Govt declares Rs 50 lakh ex gratia if police personnel dies while performing the COVID-19 duty

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government today included police personnel under its scheme to provide an ex gratia of Rs 50 lakh in case of death while performing the COVID-19 duty. Worth mentioning, a few days back the government had declared that Rs 50 lakh ex gratia will be given for all doctors, nurses and heath personnel who lose their lives in the fight against COVID-19.

DGP Abhay thanked Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for the decision to provide Rs 50 lakh compensation to the families of police personnel in the event of unfortunate death in COVID 19 work.

“We are grateful to Chief Minister’s Office for including Police personnel (along with other frontline corona workers) in #Odisha Govt scheme of Rs 50 lakh ex-gratia payment in the event of unfortunate death in #COVID19 work,” tweets Odisha DGP.
