Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik approved transfer of water bodies under Revenue & Disaster Management Department to municipalities and any alteration to their form is barred. Suitable water bodies may be utilized for pisciculture with conditional permission, provided that safe practices are followed. State Government has clarified that there will be no restrictions on usage for drinking water or irrigation.
On non-performance and failure to maintain the water bodies, they shall be transferred again to R&DM Department.
