Odisha Governor Prof. Ganeshi Lal inaugurates Brahmaputra (BH-2) and Ganga Halls of Residence (GH-2), part of Phase-II constructions of IIT Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: The Brahmaputra (BH-2) and Ganga Halls of Residence (GH-2), part of Phase-II constructions of IIT Bhubaneswar was inaugurated on 15th July, 2019 by Prof. Ganeshi Lal, The Hon’ble Governor of Odisha in the presence of Prof. R.V. Raja Kumar, Director, IIT Bhubaneswar. The event started with the unveiling of both the halls of residence, cutting of the ribbons and lighting of the lamp by Prof. Ganeshi Lal, Hon’ble Governor of Odisha. Before commencement of the event, the National Anthem was recited by the students, faculty and staff members.

 

The Institute had organized a tree plantation programme on this occasion, Prof. Ganeshi Lal, Hon’ble Governor of Odisha and Prof. R.V. Raja Kumar, Director, IIT Bhubaneswar along with Horticulture team of IIT Bhubaneswar planted saplings in front of the Brahmaputra Halls of Residence. Hon’ble Governor also interacted with the students, faculty and staff of the Institute and made the occasion very remarkable in the history of IIT Bhubaneswar.

As a token of respect, Prof. Ganeshi Lal, Hon’ble Governor. Odisha was felicitated with a memento by Prof. R.V. Raja Kumar, Director, IIT Bhubaneswar. Present on the dais were Prof. V.R. Pedireddi, Dean, Student Affairs, Col (Dr) Subodh Kumar, Registrar, Dr. Dinkar Pasla, Pic Civil Works, IIT Bhubaneswar, Dr. Shantanu Pal, Warden, IIT Bhubaneswar and Mr. Mani, Chief General Manager, National Building Construction Corporation Ltd. (NBCC).The event was attended in large nos. by students, faculty and staff members. The event culminated with reciting of the national anthem.
