Odisha DGP presided over the coordination meeting on security arrangements for Rath Yatra

Bhubaneswar: Dr.R.P Sharma,IPS,DGP presided over the coordination meeting on security arrangements for Rath Yatra today on 19.06.19 at Camp Office,BBSR.Senior Police Officers of Odisha & Officers from CRPF,BSF,RPF,Coast Guard,Airport Authorities of India,Indian Navy & IB attended the meeting.

Senior police officers of the State and officers from Central security agencies like CRPF, BSF, RPF, Coast Guard, Indian Navy and IB attended.

A threadbare discussion was held relating to the security arrangement for smooth passage of the festival. The central agencies assured their cooperation to provide sufficient number of manpower and equipment to supplement security.

The Coast Guard agreed for adequate sea patrolling off the coast of Puri along with personnel of the Indian Navy and Marine staffs of the Odisha Police. The RPF agreed to provide adequate security at the Puri and the Bhubaneswar Railway Station and also in the running trains and make proper arrangement for dissemination of information to railway passengers through LED regarding timings of different trains.

As decided sufficient number of CCTV cameras would also be installed by the RPF in the Puri Railway Station during the festival. RPF would also install display boards in the conspicuous locations of Puri town to provide information about train timings.

Senior officers of CRPF also expressed their full cooperation to prevent any evil design by any extremist groups or mischief-mongers. The Indian Navy and State Police would provide timely support to the Coast Guard in the above mission.
