Odisha DGP instructed SsP, DCsP for ensuring rotation, rest to police personnel on lockdown duty

Bhubaneswar: Odisha DGP Abhay instructed SsP and DCsP for ensuring rotation and rest of police personnel during #COVID19 enforcement duty.

“District Ss.P. and DCsP have been advised to re-visit the deployment of police on the street, so as to ensure that they get one day rest during a week and are not for more than 8 hours duty a day, as far as possible,” said DGP Abhay.

Though the present lockdown has been declared for 3 weeks, COVID-19 related enforcement is likely to continue for months. Moreover the situation in the field has by and large stabilized in so far enforcement of lockdown is concerned. This matter was discussed by DSP with district Ss.P./DCsP in a Video Conference and accordingly an advisory has been issued. All District 5s.P. and DCsP has been advised to re-visit the deployment of police on the street, so as to ensure that all police personnel on street duty get one day rest during a week and are not for more than 8 hours duty a day, as far as possible. Most districts have already started implementing this.
