Odisha Dalit men run for justice, HC order ignored by civil administration.

Report by Kahnu Nanda, Jagatsinghpur: As many as 5 Dalit men have been running pillar to post getting justice under the backdrop administration laxity, later approached to Odisha high court against administration carelessness , obtained a positive order in their favour but the hon;ble court direction yet to be implemented.
Protesting the event Dalit Bikash Parishad an organization working for the Dalit people has petitioned sub collector Jagatsinghpur claiming to implement High court order for gaining justice for five Dalit people.
The victim person’s case epitomizes that in the year 1999 Odisha government had allotted 4 decimal of land each to 5 Dalit people those had been recognized as landless citizens in Karatutha village under Kujanga block.
The victims had given original land Patta but the plot demarcation process had delayed by Kujanga Tahasil. As consequence victims did not recognize the plot became unable yielding government benefits in spite of owner of 4 decimal government sponsored land.
One victim Yagendra Sethy informed that he had been allotted an IAY house under a government housing scheme he had furnished his land Patta, but block officials asked him showing the plot location where the house would be built, he became unable establishing the plot due to demarcation of the plot had been undecided by Kujanga Tahasil, Sethy revealed. Many times we have approached Kujanga Tahasildar deciding our land demarcation but our appeal had been overlooked, Sethy added.
After being harassed by civil administration victims had filed a writ petition before Odisha High court in the year 2018 stating their difficulty for which court swung in to action and on 5 February 2019 directed Tahasildar Kujanga to depute an Amin for demarcation of the victims land and the process to complete within four months.
Soon after getting court order victims had approached Tahasildar Kujanga who was a party in the case implementing high court direction but till date no action has been taken after ending of time limit given by court, said another victim Birabar Sethy.
Meanwhile one Shankar Das, President Dalit Bikash Parishad has brought the case before sub collector Jagatsinghpur requesting him to carry out high court order and delivering justice to poor Dalit persons one week ago.
Acting on the complaint sub collector Jagatsinghpur in his letter No 12305/ dt 27-11-2019 has instructed his revenue counterparts Tahasildar Kujanga regarding compliance of high court order and conducting pending land demarcation work of the victims, official information said.
