Puri: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday visited the holy town to have a darshan of the Lords on the auspicious occasion of Rath Yatra.
Patnaik reached the Grand Road here amidst tight security cover and was welcomed by officials and sevayats to the office of the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA), where he released some books befitting to the occasion. Later, he distributed Tanka Torani (a liquid made out of Mahaprasad) to devotees.
Besides the Chief Minister, many other politicians also visited the town to have darshan of the deities who were set on their annual sojourn to the Gundicha Temple.
