Bhubaneswar: Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik today reviewed the COVID19 situation in the State with senior government officials and District Collectors. During the review, CM emphasised the strict enforcement of preventive guidelines and asked the administration to step up surveillance and testing.
Holding a review meeting with district Collectors, Superintendents of Police and other stakeholders via videoconferencing, Patnaik directed police to give special attention for enforcing Covid restrictions in public places, especially in markets, religious institutions and wedding venues.He asked the Chief Secretary to regularly take stocks of the situations.
The Health and Family Welfare Department proposed to enhance the RT-PCR testing. Besides, the department recommended setting up of mini-containment zones wherever cluster cases are detected.
Speaking to mediapersons, Health Minister Naba Kishore Das said, “All the Collectors and Municipal Commissioners have been directed to take immediate measures wherever necessary. Steps are being taken to avoid large congregations and violation of Covid-19 guidelines by people.”
