Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik stressed on enhancing quality of education

Bhubaneswar: At state-level #TeachersDay observation, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik highlighted state Government’s efforts towards enhancing quality of education. Highlights from his address at the event:


• Abolition of Block Grant system & introduction of ‘Grant-in-Aid’ will benefit 40,000 teachers, employees and officials in 4,000 schools & colleges across the state
• Reforms undertaken in hiring and training of teachers, syllabus change and evaluation process
• Model schools based on CBSE pattern and free uniforms for students from APL & BPL sections under Gangadhar Meher Scheme
• Free bicycles for students in class nine in current academic year
He felicitated teachers and highlighted their role in creation of an ideal society and nation building. He reiterated state Government’s concern for their all-round welfare and urged them to be part of various initiatives & reforms being undertaken for development of education in the state.
