CM Patnaik said Odisha, which was devastated by the 1999 super cyclone, has now emerged as a ‘Model State’ in various realms of progress and development. He said that Odisha was once importing rice for its people. But now, the state has become a surplus producer which is providing foodgrains to other states. From being written off as a ‘poor state’, Odisha is now leading the forefront in poverty alleviation at the national level. Are not these indicators of transformation?.
