Puri: Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik reviews preparedness for annual Rath Yatra. Chairing the special review meeting Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik appealed to both the public and temple sevayats (servitors) for proper cooperation during the grand event in order to make it a success.
The CM reviewed the overall preparations made for the annual Rath Yatra and directed the officials concerned to finish all the ongoing FANI restoration works by June 30.
Prominent among others present in the meeting were ministers, Puri MP, MLA, Chief Secretary, DGP and several other high officials along with the selected members of the temple servitors.
The Odisha government today decided not to collect toll tax at Pipili toll gate on the occasions of Gundicha Yatra, Bahuda Yatra and Suna Besha during the annual Rath Yatra which attracts a huge footfall of devotees in the Pilgrim Town of Puri.
This was informed by Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) chief administrator Pradipta Kumar Mohapatra soon after the special review meeting on Rath Yatra preparedness held at the Neeladri Bhakta Niwas here today.
The SJTA Chief Administrator said that no toll tax will be collected at the Pipili toll gate on the three important occasions of the ensuing annual car festival.
Mohapatra further informed that five Ambulances will be deployed in the National Highway from July 1 to July 15. Besides, the district administration will also provide free ambulance service from July 3 to 15 during the Rath Yatra.
