Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Shri Naveen Patnaik reviewed Madhu Babu Pension Yojana. He directed officials to ensure the scheme reaches every beneficiary effectively.
Highlights from the review:
• About 41,62,935 beneficiaries enrolled under the scheme in 2016-17. The number increased to 43,25,467 beneficiaries were added in 2017-18
• Earlier physically challenged children above age of 5 were eligible for the disability pension. Now physically challenged children below age of 5 will also be eligible.
• Special attention towards ensuring social security of unmarried women
He urged officials to work committedly towards ensuring hassle-free coverage of beneficiaries across the state under the scheme.
