Bhubaneswar: Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik reiterates demand for inclusion of ‘Ahimsa’ in the Preamble of the Constitution. He said this at the 2nd meeting of the National Committee for Commemoration of 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. Naveen says non-violence has given the world the strongest message.
Speaking on the Second Meeting of The Committee for Commemoration of 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Thursday, Patnaik said non-violence is the only means for the establishment of peace, development, and equality.
Therefore, he urged the youth to embrace non-violence for peace, development, and progress. The Odisha Chief Minister said the essence of non-violence imbibes the strength amongst us to eradicate poverty and social inequity.
‘As long as privation is prevalent in the society, freedom is meaningless’, Patnaik said added that ‘poverty has to banished through non-violence’. The divisive powers which create barriers among the people can be defeated with the principles of non-violence, Patnaik added.
