Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik launches Odia Virtual Academy Web Portal

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday launched a new web portal of Odia Virtual Academy (www.ova.gov.in) to promote the Odia language and literature.

Launching the web portal, the CM said, “I was delighted to dedicate the Virtual Academy that will promote our language, literature and culture across the world. Our Odia is one of the finest classical languages of India with its origin dating back to 2500 years. Odia language has given many immortal works in literature to the world.”

“I called upon all citizens to join hands to protect and preserve Odia culture and pride and build a strong and prosperous state,” the CM said. Patnaik further said, “I am glad that three MoUs have been signed today with the University of Chicago Library, C-DAC and Centre for Internet and Society, Bengaluru to expedite digitization of Odia literature and development of Odia software. This will certainly go a long way in enhancing the visibility of Odia language and literature in the digital space.”
