Report by Kahnu Nanda, Jagatsinghpur: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday virtually launched the distribution of Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana [BSKY] smart health cards in the Jagatsinghpur district. The initiative will benefit as many as 2.38 Lakh families about 8, 77,060 people of the district.
Inaugurating the distribution of BSKY cards in Jagatsinghpur district over video conferencing Chief Minister stated that, BSKY will be provided to 3.5 Crore people of 96 Lakh families in the state, about 28 districts have covered cards distribution till Tuesday, the cards will be provided to the beneficiaries of the schemes of National and state food security, Annapurna and Antyodaya enlisted people.
The chief minister also laid foundation stones of various development projects worth around Rs 742.45 crore and inaugurated 148 several projects of Rs 51.67 Crore. Speaking virtually to people the chief minister said that the aim of his government is to transform Jagatinghpur as one of the developed districts in the state.
The state government is giving importance for the drinking water supply to people. A mega water supply project worth Rs 478.38 Crore was laid foundation stone by the chief minister, about 544 villages coming under Raghunathpur, Tirtol, Kujanga and Erasama would be benefited, CM revealed.
State water resources and I and PR minister Raghunandan Das, school and mass education minister Samir Ranjan Dash, MP Dr Rajashree Mallick, MLA Prasanta Muduli, Mo college Abhiyan chairman Akash Das Nayak, OTDC chairperson Srimayee Mishra, Collector Parul Patwari and officials from district administration, PRI representatives and few BSKY cardholders were present in collector office parade ground here and connected with chief minister virtually.
