Bjubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik launched web portal for Harishchandra Sahayata Yojana and directed officials to focus on last mile delivery of such services for the needy. The portal will cater to service delivery for 16 districts in first phase. Highlights from his address:
– Financial assistance of ₹10 crore directly from Chief Minister Relief Fund, ₹4 crore through Collectors
– Assistance of ₹32 crore to 1.68 lakh poor and destitute people for conducting last rites of their family members in last two years through Harishchandra Sahayata Yojana
– Under Mahaprayan Hearse Service, 39 vehicles to 29 districts and 3 vehicles to 6 medical colleges
– Funds from CMRF for operation of programmes like Harishchandra Sahayata Yojana, Mahaprayan hearse service & AAHAR
Chief Minister said that it’s being proposed to the Centre to classify CMRF activities under Corporate Social Responsibility like Prime Minister Relief Fund, so that more such pro-people initiatives could be taken up through CMRF.
