Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik launched Ground breaking of AKM Agro processing Pvt LTD at Khordha

Bhubaneswar: 6th edition of ground breaking and inauguration of Industrial units in Odisha under make in Odisha program took place on 19th Feb 19. CM Naveen Patnaik launched the beginning of Integrated food Processing complex of AKM Agro at Khordha Industrial Area, via video conferencing from secretariat auditorium in presence of minister and industry officials. The event was marked by presence of Shri Niramal Chandra Mishra, Collector, Shri Saroj Sahu, Sub Collector, Shri Sushant Kar, DGM, IPICOL, Mrs. Banashree Rath, Divisional Head, IDCo.

AKM Agro plans to invest INR 91Crs in the project to establish an integrated food Processing complex comprised of oil extraction unit, frozen vegetables and fruits processing line, ready to eat food products etc. The oil unit plans to use 30000MT sal seeds and other oil seeds per annum, where as the vegetable processing will have 5000 MT cold storage and IQF line.

The company envisioned to connect around 50000 rural and tribal farmers and generate employment of around 300 people. The company is premised on the concept of remunarative and sustainable livelihood, ethical sourcing and community oriented agro business.
