Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik inaugurated various infrastructure projects of OUAT

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik laid foundation-stones and inaugurated various infrastructure projects of the Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT) here on Sunday.

He also laid foundation-stone for construction of an examination hall of the College of Agriculture and Kamala Pujari Ladies’ Hostel

The Chief Minister inaugurated the newly-constructed classroom and examination hall of the College of Forestry built with financial support of `152 lakh from special grants of the Union Government.

During the function, the CM felicitated 66-year-old tribal woman farmer Kamala Pujari, who has been instrumental in conservation of 100 traditional rice germ-plasms in Koraput district. Pujari has been awarded for her outstanding efforts for conserving traditional germ-plasms and sustainable agriculture practices with a series of State, national and international awards.

The OUAT authorities informed that for strengthening the research activities, various infrastructures with total budgetary allocations worth Rs 2,950.14 lakh are going to be developed for holistic development of the Regional Research and Technology Transfer Stations at Keonjhar, Chipilima, Ranital and Bhawanipatna and a Centre for Pulse research at Brahmapur. Among others, Bhubaneswar MP Prasanna Patsani and OUAT Vice-Chancellor Professor Surendranath Pushupalak were present.
