Nuapada: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in a major boost to development in Nuapada, inaugurated projects worth ₹2337.15 Cr and laid foundation of projects worth ₹50.29 Cr in the district. The projects include irrigation, rural piped water supply, communication and other social infrastructure.
Chief Minister also inaugurated Lower Indra Irrigation Project worth ₹1925.63 Cr in Nuapada which includes spillway, three dykes, canal & underground pipelines through which water will be supplied. The project will benefit 20,000 farmer families of Nuapada and 25,000 farmer families of Balangir.
Chief Minister inaugurated rural piped water supply projects worth ₹332.85 Cr to supply potable drinking water in Nuapada district. The projects will supply clean drinking water to households addressing the problem of fluoride water.
Chief Minister said that 1100 fluoride removal plants have been set up to address the problem of fluoride in water. Hon’ble Chief Minister also added that ₹700 Cr has been allocated to set up 205 Pipe Water Supply Projects and one Mega Piped Water Supply Project to supply drinking water to every household.
