Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday flagged off campaign vans named KALIA Raths to popularise the KALIA Scheme (Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation).
The campaign vans will travel in all panchayats of the state to create awareness among the rural farmers on KALIA Scheme.
Under the campaign, a total of 150 vehicles will move across the rural areas of the state. Awareness will be created on different aspects of the scheme through Audiovisual and folk art media.
The “KALIA Rath” during its sojourn through the state, will include events like cultural shows by local troupes with programmes on KALIA Scheme, audio-visual display, distribution of IEC materials (information, education and communication), activities like quizzes on KALIA Scheme and felicitation of local farmers.
While the Department of Co-operation has been entrusted by the State Government to popularize KALIA Scheme through Krushak Sampark Abhiyan, in order to reach out to all the farmers, KALIA RATH campaign will be undertaken by Odisha State Agriculture Marketing (OSAM) Board.
As per the plan, OSAM Board will intimate each district administration in advance regarding the visit of the “KALIA RATH’’ to the district so that the district administration can make a block-wise route map for the “KALIA RATH’’ to tour the entire district.
The gram panchayat nodal officers (GPNOs) and KALIA Volunteers will coordinate and monitor the events.
