Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik flagged off Jana Sampark Padayatra, termed BJP-led Modi Government as “an empty vessel that sounds much”

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday described the BJP-led Modi Government as “an empty vessel that sounds much”. After flagging off the Biju Janata Dal’s (BJD) Jana Sampark Padayatra at Jharana Basti here, Patnaik said, “Empty vessels sound much. In its poll manifesto, the BJP had promised to give Special Category State status to Odisha, but nothing has been done in this regard till yet. People of the State are still waiting for fulfilment of the BJP’s electoral pledge.” Claiming that his Government has fulfilled all its promises, Patnaik further stated that many households in the State have been left out of the National Food Security Act (NFSA), for which the State Government was forced to bring its own food security scheme, which was launched on the day.

“The people of Odisha know who fulfils promises and who does not,” he remarked.

Notably, the Jana Sampark Padayatra would be taken out across the State by BJD workers for a month to sensitise public about the various welfare programmes of the State Government like Ama Gaon Ama Vikash, Ama Sahara Ama Unnati, Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana, Mission Shakti, etc. The party workers would also highlight the failures of the BJP-led NDA Government at the Centre during their Padayatra.
