Bhubaneswar: Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik congratulates Girish Chandra Murmu for being appointed as first Lt Governor of Jammu and Kashmir.

Girish Chandra Murmu is a 1985 batch Indian Administrative Service officer of Gujarat cadre and was principal secretary to Sh Narendra Modi during his tenure as CM of Gujarat. Mr. Murmu, a 1985-batch Gujarat cadre officer, was the Expenditure Secretary in the Union Finance Ministry.
He comes from Betnoti area in Mayurbhanj district in Odisha & holds a Master’s degree from Utkal Univ. & MBA, University of Birmingham.
