Odisha Cabinet today approved decision to float global tender for COVID vaccine procurement

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik presided over the State Cabinet meeting held today evening and appreciated the sincerity and dedication of Covid warriors in our fighting against Covid-19. State Cabinet has approved to issue global tender for procurement of Covid vaccine from different major companies in order to expedite the vaccination programme in the State. Odisha govt forms two committees—- technical committee led by DMET & a managerial committee headed by MD, OSMCL to supervise floating of global tender for Covid vaccines & smooth procurement.

State Cabinet further expressed its gratitude to the people of the State for their cooperation in various Covid fighting measures such as testing, tracing, vaccination and lockdown.

hief Minister emphasized on preparation of special scheme for the protection of children’s health in Covid situation. In addition, special nodal officers have been deployed with stock of Oxymetre, PPE kits for better health care in the Child Care Centers, he added.

Chief Minister said that State Government will set up 90 ICUs and 120 beds with oxygen facility in Sundargarh to further strengthen the healthcare infrastructure in Covid situation. In addition to this, State Government has decided to set up 30 ICU beds in Bargarh and RTPCR testing lab for the treatment of the infected, he added.

Chief Minister said that three Covid hospitals have been made functional by District Administration, Koraput to treat serious COVID-19 patients in the district. These hospitals will treat patients from 14 blocks and four municipality areas of the district, he added.
